WHAT DOOR HAVE I CLOSED TO JESUS?

As we meditate on today’s message, we must pause and ask ourselves some honest questions. Jesus is not knocking at the door of our hearts because He is far. He is knocking because we have moved, not Him. The knocking is not a sound of distance but a call to return.

Take a moment to reflect:

  1. WHAT DOOR HAVE I CLOSED TO JESUS?

Is there an area of my life where I have told the Lord, “Not yet,” or “Not this part,” or “Leave this for now”?
Is it my:
• Emotions?
• Finances?
• Relationships?
• Habits?
• Thought patterns?
• Secret struggles?
• Plans and ambitions?

Where have I shut Jesus out knowingly or unknowingly?

  1. DO I STILL HEAR HIM?

Has His voice become faint because of distractions, sin, or spiritual noise?
Do I still recognize His knock when He convicts, calls, or whispers?

  1. HAVE I BECOME TOO COMFORTABLE?

Sometimes we shut the door without rebellion just comfort.
Comfort kills hunger.
Comfort steals intimacy.
Comfort closes doors gently, silently, and slowly, until one day Jesus is outside, knocking.

Where has comfort replaced my consecration?

  1. AM I DELAYING OBEDIENCE?

Delayed obedience is disobedience in slow motion.
Every “later” to God opens a door for the enemy.
Every postponed instruction becomes a closed door to His presence.

What has God told me to do that I keep postponing?

  1. AM I AFRAID OF WHAT JESUS WILL CHANGE?

Sometimes the door remains closed because we fear surrender.
Surrender feels like loss but always leads to gain.
Anything Jesus removes is something that was killing us softly.

What fear is keeping me from opening the door fully?

  1. WHAT WOULD MY LIFE LOOK LIKE IF I LET HIM IN COMPLETELY?

Imagine
…a heart without the weight of guilt.
…a mind without constant anxiety.
…a life filled with divine companionship.
…a spirit glowing with His presence.

Imagine a day where your first thought is His peace and your last thought is His comfort.

This is what happens when we open the door.

  1. WHAT IF THIS KNOCK IS MY LAST WARNING?

Grace is beautiful, but grace can be exhausted.
Jesus withdrew from the Shulamite bride when she responded too late.
Some doors, if not opened in time, become sealed by delay.

How many more times will Jesus knock before I finally open?

⭐ SELF-EXAMINATION QUESTIONS

Use these as a mirror:
1. What part of my heart is Jesus calling me to surrender today?
2. What sin have I normalized or hidden from God?
3. What distraction has replaced my devotion?
4. What assignment have I abandoned?
5. What promise of God have I stopped believing in?
6. When was the last time I responded to His voice instantly?
7. What step can I take today to open the door again?

Lord Jesus, today I pause to examine my heart.
Show me every door I have closed to You.
Reveal every area I have held back knowingly or unknowingly.
Expose every distraction, every sin, every fear, and every comfort that has distanced me from You.
Give me the humility to repent, the courage to surrender, and the grace to open every door.
I choose to respond now not later.
Help me to hear Your voice clearly and follow You wholeheartedly.
Amen.

Pray 🙏

Today, I open the door of my heart to Jesus Christ completely, fully, and joyfully.
Nothing will keep Him out again.
