THOU, MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR

DAY 50

THOU, MIGHTY MAN OF VALOUR

“And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him, and said unto him, The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.” Judges 6:12 (KJV)

REFLECTION

The story of Gideon is a divine reminder that God sees beyond your weakness. He calls out your hidden strength. When the angel of the Lord found Gideon, he was threshing wheat secretly to hide from his enemies. Yet, Heaven’s declaration over him was not “fearful” or “weak,” but “mighty man of valour.”

God often speaks to us according to His purpose, not our present condition. Gideon saw himself as the least in his father’s house, but God saw a deliverer of nations. Likewise, you may feel inadequate, but Heaven has already named you victorious.

GIDEON’S QUESTIONING AND GOD’S ASSURANCE

Judges 6:13 (KJV) “And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the Lord be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt? but now the Lord hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.”

Like Gideon, many today ask, “Lord, if You are with me, why am I struggling?” But God’s reply to Gideon is His reply to you:

Judges 6:14 (KJV) “And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?”

God’s presence is the assurance of victory. He doesn’t need a perfect vessel. He needs an obedient one.

FOUNDATIONAL ALTARS MUST FALL

God showed Gideon that his family’s oppression was tied to a foundational altar.

Judges 6:25–26 (KJV) “And it came to pass the same night, that the Lord said unto him, Take thy father’s young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: And build an altar unto the Lord thy God upon the top of this rock.”

Gideon obeyed, though in fear, and destroyed the altar of Baal by night. In the morning, when the people wanted to kill him, his father said:

Judges 6:31 (KJV) “If he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar.”

Beloved, until the wrong altars in your foundation are pulled down, the right altar of victory cannot stand. Every Baal altar spiritual, generational, or emotional must come down for your destiny to rise.

DIVINE STRATEGY FOR VICTORY

When Gideon prepared for battle, he gathered 22,000 soldiers. God reduced them to 300, showing that victory comes not by numbers but by divine strategy.

Judges 7:2–7 (KJV)
“And the Lord said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me… And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand.”

God doesn’t need a crowd to make you great. He needs your faith, obedience, and readiness. He will use your “few” to accomplish much.

GOD: THE MAN OF WAR

Exodus 15:3 (KJV) “The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.”
Psalm 18:34 (KJV) “He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.”
Psalm 144:1 (KJV) “Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.”
Psalm 18:29 (KJV) “For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.”
Psalm 18:40 (KJV) “Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies; that I might destroy them that hate me.”
Proverbs 21:31 (KJV) “The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.”

Our God is strategic. Your victory is not random it is crafted by divine intelligence. Every battle in your life has already been factored into God’s plan for your triumph.

PRAYERS
1. Father, thank You for calling me a mighty man/woman of valour even when I feel weak. Help me to see myself through Your eyes.
2. Lord, every altar of Baal or generational bondage in my foundation, let it be destroyed by fire in Jesus’ name.
3. Father, teach my hands to war and my fingers to fight. Give me divine strategy to overcome every Midianite spirit in my life.
4. Lord, remove fear, doubt, and unbelief from my heart. Fill me with boldness like Gideon to fulfill my purpose.
5. Father, I decree that I am no longer oppressed. Every spirit of limitation and failure in my life is destroyed by the power of the Holy Ghost.
6. Lord, surround me with faithful and fearless helpers, just like You gave Gideon his 300 warriors.
7. Father, let the victory You gave Gideon manifest in my family, ministry, and destiny.
