GOD HAS MADE ME TO LAUGH
“And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.” Genesis 21:6
There are moments in life when all hope seems gone, when every door appears shut, and when delay begins to speak louder than faith. Yet, in those very moments, God is working behind the scenes, turning tears into testimonies and sorrow into songs of laughter.
The adage says, “He who laughs last, laughs best.” The Bible confirms this principle in Ephesians 4:9–10, where it speaks of Christ,our perfect example,who first descended into the lower parts of the earth before He ascended far above all heavens. Glory came after groaning, and the crown came after the cross.
Beloved, the journey of life often follows this divine pattern: descension before ascension, pain before praise, tests before testimonies, and trials before triumph. You may be in your “Genesis 17” moment right now,when laughter feels impossible and the promise seems far beyond your reach,but if you hold on in faith, you will enter your “Genesis 21” moment, where God Himself will cause you to laugh!
Abraham and Sarah’s story reveals two types of laughter:
1. The Laughter of Doubt – born out of unbelief and hopelessness. Abraham laughed in his heart, and Sarah laughed within herself (Genesis 17:17; 18:12). They couldn’t comprehend how the impossible could become possible.
2. The Laughter of Testimony,born out of divine fulfillment. When God visited them in His appointed time, Sarah declared, “God has made me to laugh, and all that hear will laugh with me.”
This is the laughter that wipes away years of sorrow, silences mockers, and turns shame into shining glory. It is the laughter that comes from God’s mercy, faithfulness, and perfect timing.
Maybe men have mocked you, saying your time is past. Maybe you have laughed in doubt like Sarah. But today, the Lord says to you, “At the appointed time, I will return unto thee.” (Genesis 18:14). Your season of divine laughter has come!
🕊 PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, thank You for Your promises that never fail. Just as You made Sarah to laugh, make me laugh this season in the name of Jesus.
2. Lord, every area of my life where I have laughed in doubt, forgive me and strengthen my faith to believe again.
3. O God of the appointed time, visit me today,turn my waiting into winning, my tears into laughter, and my sorrow into songs of joy.
4. Father, cause all that hear my testimony to laugh with me. Let my joy become contagious and my story a source of encouragement to others.
5. Lord Jesus, turn every mockery into miracles, every shame into shining glory, and every delay into divine acceleration.

• What once made me cry will soon make me dance.
• God is changing my story, and those who mocked me will soon celebrate with me.
• My laughter will be loud, my joy full, and my testimony undeniable.
• I shall laugh again, and this time, it will be the laughter of victory, joy, and fulfillment!
