“And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.” Esther 7:2
Queen Esther understood divine strategy. Faced with a decree of death against her people, she didn’t run to man for help she ran to God through fasting, humility, and sacrifice. Her act of faith opened the heavens and moved the king’s heart. The same God who gave her favor before the throne will also grant your petitions when you approach Him in obedience and sacrifice.
Beloved, notice that Esther didn’t rush her request. She first prepared a banquet of wine, a symbol of covenant, joy, and offering. Her second banquet was the moment of divine manifestation when the King asked again, “What is thy petition?” and everything shifted in her favor. This teaches us that sacrifice births access, and access births divine response.
Sacrifice is a mystery that moves both heaven and earth. When you willingly give your time, worship, resources, service, or heart to God—you attract divine attention. It is not about what you give, but how and why you give. A sacrifice offered in faith can turn judgment into mercy, delay into divine acceleration, and rejection into acceptance.
The Scriptures show us the same principle through King Solomon. When he offered an uncommon sacrifice to God, heaven responded swiftly: “Ask what I shall give thee.” Solomon asked for wisdom, and God added riches, honor, and peace things he didn’t even request (1 Kings 3:3–13).
Even in warfare, the king of Moab recognized the power of sacrifice. Though he used it wrongly, his act shifted the atmosphere of battle (2 Kings 3:26–27). How much more will a righteous sacrifice unto the living God bring favor and breakthrough into your life!
Today, the King of Kings is asking you the same question:
“What is your petition? What is your request?”
Will you dare to ask largely? Will you dare to trust Him beyond what your eyes can see?
When your heart aligns with His will, your request becomes a decree in heaven. No man, demon, or system can stop what God has approved in your favor.

Heavenly Father, thank You for being the King who listens and responds to my petitions. As I come before You today, I surrender my desires and align my heart with Your will. Let every sacrifice I make whether in prayer, service, or giving speak before Your throne. Lord, turn my requests into testimonies, and cause my life to bring glory to Your name. Like Esther, let favor surround me, and every Haman in my life be exposed and removed. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
