THE DISCERNING LIFE**
“That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.” Philippians 1:10
Discerning what truly matters is one of the greatest spiritual needs of our time. With countless voices calling for our attention and endless options competing for our devotion, we must rise above mere guesswork and learn to see life through God’s eyes.
Paul’s prayer from a prison cell was not that believers would simply make good choices, but that they would make excellent ones the choices aligned with the superior will of God. Discernment is not suspicion. It is spiritual clarity the ability to sift through the noise, recognize God’s leading, and choose what is best for our destiny.
Romans 12:2 reminds us that such clarity comes through a renewed mind. Discernment flows from intimacy with Christ, from abounding love filled with knowledge and insight. A heart saturated with God’s love and a mind shaped by His Word will naturally identify what honors God, what protects destiny, and what aligns with eternal purpose.
James 1:5 assures us that wisdom is not reserved for a few it is available to anyone who asks. And 1 Corinthians 10:31 grounds us in the truth that every part of our lives, even the ordinary moments, must reflect the glory of God.
To discern is to live beyond the superficial and step into the excellent life God designed. This is the path of purity, integrity, and spiritual maturity a life ready for the day of Christ.
