WE WOULD SEE JESUS

DAY 63

WE WOULD SEE JESUS

“The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.” — John 12:21

Philip’s response to the Greeks who longed to see Jesus reminds us of the recurring restrictive posture of the disciples whenever anyone sought direct access to the Master. Ironically, the very people assigned to bring men to Christ often acted as barriers instead of bridges.

They forbade children from approaching Him — Luke 18:15.
They attempted to send the hungry crowd away – Luke 9:12.
They urged Jesus to chase away the Canaanite woman crying for help for her daughter Matthew 15:23.
James and John even sought to call down fire from heaven on those who hindered their journey Luke 9:54.

Why this excessive protectiveness? Perhaps they thought Jesus was too busy, too elevated, or too burdened to attend to what they considered petty or insignificant. But Jesus never acted this way. The disciples often misunderstood His mission but Jesus always welcomed the seeker.

Beloved, I may not know everything, but I can confidently tell you this: Do not allow any “disciple” to keep you away from Jesus.
Do not allow anyone’s words, attitudes, or actions to deny you your encounter, your miracle, or your breakthrough. And if you are a disciple of Jesus, be careful never let your life, your speech, or your behavior push people away from Christ.

Child of God, when people ask you to show them Jesus
How do you respond?
Do your actions represent Christ well, or do they scare seekers away?
Remember: we will all stand before the judgment seat to give account of the ministry entrusted to us.

Jesus is for all for the rich and the poor, the learned and unlearned, the great and the small. Everyone’s need matters. Everyone’s burden counts. And everyone’s destiny is important to God.

After Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, His influence among the people surged. His triumphant entry into Jerusalem drew massive attention from the Jewish nation and beyond. At the same time, the plot to murder Him intensified. It was in this atmosphere of expectation, tension, and prophetic fulfillment that the Greeks approached Philip.

Having witnessed the triumphant entry and heard the whispers of His identity as the Messiah, they knew something monumental was unfolding something that concerned not only Israel but the entire world. And they were right.

Jesus, knowing His hour had come, recognized the cry “Sir, we would see Jesus” as a divine signal. It was confirmation that His sacrificial death would draw all nations and all people into reconciliation with God. His kingdom was about to expand beyond borders, beyond ethnicity, beyond Israel into the whole world.

Thus, their earnest desire activated the steps that would lead Jesus to the cross, His glorification, and ultimately His resurrection (John 12:27).

Beloved, the cry of every true seeker remains the same today:
“We would see Jesus.”

May nothing in your life block this cry may everything about you point people to Him.

SHALOM!!!

PRAYERS

  1. Father, in the name of Jesus, let nothing keep me from encountering You. Remove every barrier internal and external that stands between me and the fullness of Christ. Open my eyes, my heart, and my spirit to see Jesus clearly every day. Amen.
  2. Lord, make me a true disciple who leads people to You and not away from You. Guard my words, attitudes, and actions. Let my life reflect Your love, compassion, and accessibility. Amen.
  3. Every voice, influence, or person acting as a “disciple barrier” in my life standing between me and my miracle—Lord, remove them or transform them. I refuse to be hindered from seeing Jesus. Amen.
  4. Jesus, just as the Greeks sought You, let the nations of the earth hunger for You again. Stir hearts in every nation, tribe, and people to say, “We would see Jesus.” Make me an instrument in this end-time harvest. Amen.
  5. Father, grant me boldness and wisdom to reveal Jesus to everyone around me. Let my life shine with Your glory so that seekers may find You through me. Amen.
